What is FAT LAVA. Fat Lava is a more and more excepted nick-name for all West German Pottery. It originated from ceramics from the mid fifties up till the early eighties with a typical thick pumice lava-like glazing like the pictures on top this page show. During translation errors on the internet "thick pumice" turned in to FAT LAVA.
